Passive Fire Protection

Passive Fire Protection (PFP) plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of buildings. Built into the structure of a building PFP provides compartmentation, fire separation and safe means of escape. The overall objective of PFP is to contain a fire, limit the effects of flame, heat and smoke, and prevent fire spread, either within the same building or to an adjacent building.

External Envelope Passive Fire Protection

Rockfire Trapezoidal blocks are designed for fire-stopping gaps and junctions in the underside of floor and roof constructions.

Applications include concrete or composite decks and profiled sheeting. Trapezoidal blocks also minimalise acoustic flanking transmission.

Timber Frame Passive Fire Protection

Specific Cavity Fire Barriers are available from SIG Construction Accessories for Timber Frame construction where building regulations require them.

Masonry Passive Fire Protection

Masonry Passive Fire Protection products offer a complete solution for fire, thermal and acoustic requirements. SIG Construction Accessories carry masonry-specific products such as Stop Socks (Polythene encapsulated insulation) and Tagged Cavity Barrier (TCB) for the prevention of passage of fire in concealed cavities.

Suppliers include Rockwool, Mayplas and ARC.
